We’re not building that. Here’s why we ask.
Religion has a long track record of saying one thing and feeling another. Smiling in the lobby, dying on the inside. Answering “blessed and highly favored” when the truth is closer to I’m barely holding on.
We can’t build a house on that.
“These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.” — Matthew 15:8
That warning isn’t aimed at unbelievers. It’s aimed at the religious. A room can look right and be empty.
So we ask two things of everybody who was in that room — and they’re doing different jobs.
One · The testimony — that’s for you
What God did in you, in your own voice. Sixty seconds is plenty — no app, no download, record right from your phone.
“They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” — Revelation 12:11. Your story is a weapon. Somebody who wasn’t in that room needs to hear it.
Two · The survey — that’s for us
What worked. What didn’t. What almost kept you from coming. Nobody sees it but us, and it makes the next room better.
Be honest. We can take it — and we’d rather hear it than guess.
“Therefore, putting away lying, each one speak truth with his neighbor, for we are members of one another.” — Ephesians 4:25
Not an audience and a platform — a body. And a body that hides how it actually feels can’t heal, can’t grow, and can’t get on one accord.
“Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed.” — James 5:16
Healing is on the other side of honesty. It always has been.
And here’s the part about us: we’re human and we will get things wrong. We’ll misjudge a moment, run something too long, miss somebody standing at the back. If nobody tells us, we’ll do it again next time and call it tradition.
“They were all with one accord in one place… and suddenly there came a sound from heaven.” — Acts 2:1–2
One accord came first. Then the glory. One accord isn’t a feeling — it’s a room where nobody is pretending. That’s the room His glory filled, and that’s the room we’re trying to keep building.
So tell us the truth. The good, the awkward, the thing you almost didn’t say. That’s not criticism — that’s us being members of one another.
